This suburban residence takes inspiration from chateaux in France’s Dordogne River Valley, with its stone exterior, slate roof and simple plank shutters. The back elevation features a covered terrace and patios that step down to the pool and lawn. Inside, the home slowly reveals itself through a series of intimate spaces connected by vestibules, anterooms and galleries. Harrison Design incorporated elegant design elements, such as groin-vaulted galleries illuminated by suspended custom light fixtures, numerous archways and coffered ceilings. In many rooms, wood beams add a rustic note to the otherwise stately design.
