Karen Ferguson established Harrison Design’s interior design studio in 2000, becoming the firm’s youngest [and first female] design director. With her appreciation for the beauty of classical architecture and her fresh perspective on traditional design, clients seek her guidance on every aspect of their interiors from space planning to selecting and creating custom finishes, furnishings and accessories. Over the years, many clients have reconnected for Karen’s expertise for their vacation homes, or freshening up their primary residence.
Karen has built an impressive body of national and international projects that represent a cross-section of styles showcasing her versatility. Recent work includes a Gatsby-era estate along Oyster Bay’s North Shore, a sprawling English manor, a seaside British colonial estate, a charming lakeside retreat, as well as a number of luxury units with skyline views at the Mandarin Oriental in Atlanta’s stylish Buckhead community. Well versed in new construction as well as renovations, Karen gently guides clients through each step of the process.
Karen enjoys working with a number of nonprofit organizations, espousing Harrison Design’s tenet of giving back to the communities in which we work. She has been conferred numerous industry awards and has enjoyed frequent media coverage. Karen was honored to be selected as a featured speaker at the Georgia ASID’s 2013 Storytellers Event and in 2015, she was featured among a select group of design professionals in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles’ 15 Under 40.
