ASPIRE HOUSE MCLEAN DESIGNER SHOW HOUSE BY HARRISON DESIGN OPENS IN PERSON AND VIRTUALLY

The first-ever ASPIRE HOUSE McLean Designer Show House 2020 opened to the public, in person and virtually, Aug. 22 through Sept. 13. Designed by Bill Harrison and the principal architects of Harrison Design Washington, DC, Bulent Baydar and Mark Hughes, this modern interpretation of a Palladian Villa retains a sense of classical timelessness while catering to a contemporary lifestyle.
The residence adapts Palladio’s classical concepts of geometry, proportion and symmetry in its dynamic spatial experience, yet the home is decidedly modern and light filled. All rooms are proportional Palladian shapes and volumes, but the overall plan is more modernly open. Contemporary twists include large window areas and extended sightlines along the home’s main and minor axes that flood the space with sunlight and draw the outdoors inside.
It has been a privilege to work side by side with Artisan Builders, the tireless ASPIRE HOUSE team, and the talented interior designers, who have jumped through countless hoops to make the show house possible during this exceptional time.
Enjoy exploring classical architecture through a modern lens in ASPIRE House McLean’s virtual tour.
