Karen Ferguson, ASID and her interiors studio, comprised of Betsy McBride, Allied ASID and Laura Hermes, Associate ASID, have been awarded with both Gold and Silver awards at this year’s Georgia Chapter ASID Awards.
The three designers received the Gold Award for custom product design, The Nikolette Vanity.
“The client requested a unique, custom design that appeared to be furniture, but maintained the functionality of a vanity. What resulted was an ornate, curvilinear piece wrapped in a stunning crotch mahogany. The tapered legs emphasize the furniture feel, while the drawer interiors were fitted with electrical outlets, providing a clever, yet practical method to keep hair dryers, curling irons, etc. out of sight when not in use. The piece was finished with elegant, polished nickel teardrop hardware which compliments the defining curves seen throughout the design.”
Karen Ferguson and Betsy McBride’s Show House Laundry Room also received accolades; earning the studio a Silver Award for Residential – Show House.
“While this Laundry Room is in a Show House, we were challenged with keeping the future home buyer in mind while designing the space. We created a laundry room that will be comfortable and functional for the family that would eventually inhabit this home, as well as creating an inspiring space for Show House visitors.”
