The master plan for this new church in an Atlanta suburb encompassed the design of a new structure to seat at least 600 parishioners, with a choir loft and practice space for many choral groups, along with an office and educational and gathering spaces for community programs. The design of the building was inspired by the now-closed St. Gerard’s Catholic church in Buffalo, NY, with a design based on a one-third scale of the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, one of Rome’s four major basilicas. Much of St. Gerard’s stain glass, interior statuary, pews and iron gates were reused. The 37,500-square-foot church was officially dedicated March 17, 2019.
