On top of a bluff, this property offers extraordinary vistas across Little Neck Bay, with a 100-foot drop to the water. The owners wanted a more natural landscape, which is immediately introduced by the wildflower meadow along the steep, winding drive leading to the residence. Exposed aggregate concrete mimics the look of gravel but is more practical for winter and a more refined reclaimed granite is used in the two courtyards. In the rear, large trees were retained to frame views. The pool has two infinity edges to enhance marrying views with the distant horizon. Throughout the back, area for lawn and garden is maximized, along with programmed spaces, including an outdoor fire feature that dramatically perches along the edge of the hillside. Vegetation selections include sedum ground cover, dwarf fountain grass and brilliant fall foliage plants.
